The NJEHA Executive Council encourages all members to become actively involved with the Association's various committees. Many of our members have special areas of expertise or network with particular community groups and public health agencies. You may have the untapped potential to serve as a particularly valuable resource to the Association, so get involved!

NJEHA COMMITTEES


Awards Committee
Canvasses the membership for possible candidates for awards, honorary membership, and retired membership status.

Communications Committee
Implements programs to facilitate free exchange of information between the Association and other entities, and within the general membership; market Association to other entities. Committee shall include Chairs of Newsletter, Program and Education, and Membership Committees.

Constitution and By-Laws Committee
Takes direction from the Executive Council and proceeds according to Article X; uses the latest National Environmental Health Association Constitution and By-laws as a guide for proposed Amendments.

Elections Committee
Convenes as indicated in Article VIII-D prior to the annual meeting of an election year, and therein follow the indicated procedure.

Finance Committee
Oversees the treasury of the Association, and shall be composed of the President-Elect, First Vice President, Immediate Past-President, Treasurer and a member-at-large.

Fundraising Committee
Administers all fundraising activities.

Legislative Committee
Chair shall receive monthly publication of the Legislative Index from the New Jersey State Legislature, shall inform Association of pending State Legislation pertaining to Public Health, shall be liaison representing Association concerning opinions of Association on essential public health issues.

Membership Committee
Actively pursues increasing membership.

Newsletter Committee
Publishes and distributes the newsletter and required notices at regular intervals among the membership, this committee shall include the Chair of the Program and Education Committee.

Nominating Committee
Convenes before March 15th of an election year to present a slate of candidates by this date to be elected by the General Assembly during the March business meeting, shall screen worthy candidates as prescribed in Article VIII prior to their names appearing on the ballot.

Program and Education Committee
Develops an informative educational program at each General Assembly, and has alternate programs as necessary; committee shall include the Newsletter editor.

Scholarship Committee
Screens applicants and presents scholarships/symposium honoraria, with approval of the Executive Council; responsible for an annual fundraising event to replenish the scholarship fund, with the aid of the membership; Chair oversees a separate checking and savings account for these funds; maintains, revises, amends and/or changes scholarship guidelines after approval of majority vote of Executive Council.
