Garden State Environmental, Inc., an indoor air quality (IAQ) and environmental consulting firm, has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Field Consultant. The ideal candidate will live in northern/central New Jersey and will routinely travel to our client locations throughout NJ, NY and PA. Flexibility in working from home office is possible. Applicants should have at least a bachelor’s degree in a scientific field and some experience or interest in IAQ, environmental health & safety, or related fields. Experience in conducting IAQ, water intrusion and microbial (mold) and asbestos inspections and testing and experience in residential or commercial building trades, or construction is preferred; however we would considerer training an entry-level applicant. The work will primarily involve field work; conducting investigations, collecting environmental samples, communicating verbally and in writing to clients and contractors, helping build client relationships, and preparing reports. Additional work may include other types of industrial hygiene and environmental assignments. Candidates must possess the ability to work independently, must have strong verbal and written communication and computer skills and must be dependable, disciplined, detail oriented, flexible, and physically able to carry out field assignments. Randolph Township is a local health provider municipality seeking a self-motivated individual to perform sanitary and supervise inspection and environmental health work including but not limited to, the enforcement of relevant sanitary, environmental, housing, property maintenance and public health laws and rules with the township and it’s recipient communities; conducts inspections, investigations and; performs other duties as required. Possession of an active Registered Environmental Health Specialist License issued by the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services and a valid New Jersey driver’s license required. State housing inspectors and lead inspector risk assessors licenses or willingness to obtain same also required. Minimum 3 years local health agency experience. Certifications in related field preferred.
